I Was Having A Beer...
...with Fr. Tom. A dear and blessed man. I was 22 and I expressed my frustration with people not being "perfect".
He looked me square in the eye and said, "Son, if you expect perfection, you will spend your life alone. Being human means accepting the foibles of others. A narcissistic person stares in the water and admires themselves. A genuine person stares into the eyes of another human being knowing they are human.
I took that advice to heart and learned to accept people as they are. It has served me well. Some people, like this person,
seem to believe that the world is inhabited by saints. Her included. It's called Narcissism. Nuff said.

I read that post you referenced and I can say that she is exactly like my mother. She can pick, choose, snub, be judgemental and aloof with no problem whatsoever.
Problem is, life comes back to bite them in the ass. If someone only chooses perfect friends what happens when they get old? These fake friends, dry up, stop calling and probably dump their ass for the same reason.
Being perfect can get awfully lonely
If only they knew, hammer, if only they knew.
Too bad. Imperfect people are infinitely more interesting. Her loss.
funny....i read her blog and i dont see that at all....i see a woman that set her standards high...and why not...her choice...you can accept people and thier faults but doesnt mean you want to hang with them...you can accept a person who is a drug addict but doesnt mean you want them in your life.....i agree with her blog.....set the bar high and you get better quality people in your life....i have know people just like her....and they are great souls.....life is to short to settle....all that does is leads to heartache and resentment.....i think its sad your spotlighting her to begin with...actualy contradicts your entire blog....acceptance...practice what you preach.....though you prob wont post this...im going to copy this and send it to her...
